I played basketball from 5th grade to 8th grade. Then I took 3 years off. I’m a senior in high school right now, and I made the varsity basketball team. What are the chances of making a college team if I do good this year? Can you only make a college team from being scouted or given a scholarship? Did I wait too long or if I put up like 15pts/g and have good leadership qualities could I make a team in college? Oh, and I have pretty good grades. Thanks!!

Let’s assume that somehow a player got into the NBA without ever playing college ball and not signing an agent either. He plays for a few years and decided he wants to play NCAA basketball for whatever reason. Are there any rules that would prevent this from happening?

I don’t see why NBA players should be barred from playing on NCAA teams if they don’t play in the NBA at the same time. Is there some kind of rule stipulating that if you play in the NBA, you can never be a college athlete?

Every year, deserving teams get screwed over by a machine and they miss the chance to play for the title. Why not adopt a playoff system and make it more exciting and challenging? That way, ALL teams would get more than fair treatment? I just think it’s weird that the fate of a college football team is left up to something that is non human.

I am in the 8th grade and in the future I hope to get a college basketball scholarship from a big school or a small school. I am willing to do whatever it takes and I understand that it won’t be given to me and I will have to work at it. I need you all to give me steps that I can take to achieve my goal. I have never played on an AAU Team although I do have gameplay experience when I was on my school team in 7th and 8th grade. I also practice on my skills everyday.

I’m 30 years old, and well, I never developed a jump shot until after High School. Later, I became really good. I joined the Army for 8 years, and then got out I’m now 30 years old. I can still play basketball exceptionally well. Sad truth is, no one is going to take a 30 year old college basketball player, or NBA rookie for that matter. I play for sport and fun now. However, anyone like me, and wish they had really went out for the NBA in hard work and pursuit?
